High protein diets

- High protein diet (3.4g/kg/d) combined with heavy resistance training improves body composition

o Journal of international society of sports nutrition 2014; age of subjects (24 +/- 5 yrs) n=40 randomized crossover design.

- High protein diet in resistance trained men for 1 year – no neg effects on blood lipids, liver, kidney function. In addition, despite the total increase in energy intake during the high protein phase subjects did not experience an increase in fat mass

o Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism 2016, randomized crossover design in 14 men

Point being – moderation; increased eating frequency
